About HSI
Leadership Team

Kenneth R. Stults, MS

PRESIDENT/CEO
Kenneth R. Stults, MS

Ken has accumulated 25 years experience as an air ambulance executive. Prior to founding HSI in 1999, he served as CEO of two large independent medical transport services (CareFlite, TX; REACH, CA). He began his air ambulance career in 1983 as program director of the University of Iowa Hospitals' Air Care service. In the 1970's and 1980's Ken was a nationally prominent prehospital cardiac arrest researcher, which is more consistent than it seems with where he has taken his air ambulance career. In both endeavors the driving force in his professional life has been the study and mastery of process in order to consistently produce the desired outcome. His commitment to measurable results in 10 years of ambulance revenue management is evident in the special software tools HSI has created to support its painstakingly developed claims management processes, and the extensive and deep reporting to document both performance and results.

Jennifer Hardcastle, RN, BA

VP, CHIEF OPERATING OFFICER
Jennifer Hardcastle, RN, BA

Through her 18 years of experience in the medical transport community, Jennifer has developed a comprehensive understanding of the operational and communications process issues that repeatedly result in variation in medical transport service delivery and continually challenge and distract medical transport leadership from their primary work of leading their organizations. Jennifer's passion for understanding how organizational structure and policy affect individual behavior within the organization led to her acquiring a degree in Organizational Behavior. Her education combined with her progressive learning as flight nurse, program director, and director of business development, enable Jennifer to be an effective organizational change agent not only for HSI, but also for HSI's partner organizations.

Joanne Alvarado

DIRECTOR OF PATIENT ACCOUNTS
Joanne Alvarado

HSI claims to have the most effective outsource air ambulance billing service in the nation, and we are prepared to prove it anytime we are asked. All the software support in the world aside, this would not be possible without excellent people. Joanne has been leading our claims management team since 2003, and is responsible for development of many of our most effective processes, and for effective implementation of all.

Holly Weber

PARTNER SUPPORT COORDINATOR
Holly Weber

Holly brings to HSI 17 years of experience in the emergency medical services industry. She launched her career as an instructor, search and rescue coordinator, and co-director for SOLO, a school for wilderness and emergency medicine based in the White Mountains of New Hampshire. Holly then served six-plus years in the coordination and business management of fixed wing services for a medical transport provider based in Northern California. Through all of these experiences, Holly has remained true to her driving principles of excellent customer service, attention to detail, and the creation of efficient systems. With the acumen of an MBA under her belt and Holly's personable and can-do nature, she has just the right blend of skills to coordinate HSI's Partner Support Team.

Nathan Stults

CHIEF TECHNOLOGY OFFICER
Nathan Stults

Nathan is the architect responsible for each of HSI's uniquely effective software tools. He is not only a gifted programmer, committed to keeping his team on the cutting edge of ever advancing software technology, he is a good listener and facilitator. HSI's performance enhancement tools start with clearly understanding the performance requirements they need to enhance. Our tools are unique because they are developed within the environment in which they are used by a gifted listener who, in the end, repeatedly delivers more and better support than we realized we needed.
