Our Story

Founded in 1999 by seasoned veterans of the air ambulance industry, the history of Health Services Integration (HSI) actually began nearly three decades ago with founder Ken Stults.

Ken recognized early in his career that the challenges he faced over the years as CEO of hospital-based, not-for-profit, and for-profit medical transport organizations were not unique to a given organization's structure. Across the board, all organizations had one significant challenge in common: consistently producing desired outcomes from human dependant processes. Whether solving communications, operations, logistics, or fiscal problems, Ken recognized that all organizations are challenged to implement sustainable solutions to the problems they face. Ken's personal frustration with the defects in his own organizations' service delivery and his acute awareness of the cost of the time and effort spent addressing and re-addressing recurring problems led to his desire to produce sustainable solutions to common core medical transport challenges.

Eager to eliminate frustration and to create enduring solutions within his own organization, Stults and his team went to work. They first created FlightLink IPM, an internal process management system to close communication gaps between management and staff working different shifts at multiple locations. Next was FlightLink CAD, a highly customizable "virtual supervisor" that greatly enhances the quality and consistency of service provided by communications centers on behalf of the customers they serve. The most recent addition to the FlightLink performance management suite is the Revenue Performance Manager (RPM). RPM was developed as a sophisticated workflow and performance management tool designed to ensure consistently optimized revenue results, even in the event of key manager and staff turnover.
